Update to iOS 7.1.1 Right Away

Two days ago Apple released iOS 7.1.1, a software update for iPhone 4 or later, iPad 2 or later, iPad mini or later, iPod touch (5th generation). It contains bug fixes and security patches and promises improvements to Touch ID fingerprint recognition and a fix to improve keyboard responsiveness.
After reading about the security content of iOS 7.1.1, you'll agree that it's time to install the new OS as soon as possible. It does the following:
- fixes an issue that could allow an attacker in a privileged network position can obtain web site credentials
- fixes an issue where an attacker with a privileged network position may capture data or change the operations performed in sessions protected by SSL
The update does a few other things, too. The bottom line, however, is run it as soon as possible. Oh, and for what it's worth, some people have reported improved battery life after performing the update.
Back up your iPhone or iPad and then install the update as soon as possible. It's a good idea to avoid untrusted or unknown wireless networks, like those found in hotels or other public settings, until you've had a chance to update.
How do I install the update?
- Plug in your iPhone or iPad, or ensure it has more than a 50% charge.
- Touch Settings > General > Software Update.
