Dragon Box Makes Learning Algebra Fun
/Dragon Box is a multi-platform math game. It makes learning algebra every bit as fun as playing Angry Birds or Cut the Rope. Don't tell your son or daughter, but he or she is secretly learning how to balance algebraic expressions.
I got this game for my son when it first came out a couple of years ago. He was in the 3rd grade and I didn't tell him it taught algebra. He picked up the basics pretty fast and beat the game within 2 weeks. When I told him it was algebra, he looked at me like I tricked him, but he was proud to be able to do it so easily.
During early levels, the game shows cute pictures for a player to match. As play progresses, the pictures are replaced with mathematical symbols. Near the end, kids are solving real algebra problems, unaided. It's amazing to watch.
The 5+ edition of the game costs $5.99 and comes with over 200 levels. It's available in 22 languages and on a variety of platforms including, Android, iOS, Mac, and PC.
